The Literature Translation Institute of Korea (LTI Korea) is taking applications for the first 2027 round of its International Exchange Grants, which support activities that bring Korean literature to overseas readers. The round opened on 1 October and closes on 31 December 2026, Korea Standard Time.

Individuals and organisations in Korea or abroad can apply. The institute lists writers, translators, international literary festivals, Korean studies departments at overseas universities, publishers and literary agencies in Korea and elsewhere, and literary influencers on platforms such as YouTube and Instagram as possible applicants.

Funded activities can include events featuring Korean writers or translators, original video or audio content such as book trailers, reviews and interviews, marketing for newly translated Korean titles, and other online or offline work, such as running a Korean literature website. Projects already funded by another LTI Korea program or by Korean public money for the same work are not eligible, and events finished before the deadline will not be funded.

Each application can receive up to 20 million won. Publishers, agencies, institutes and other organisations must pay at least 20 per cent of the total budget themselves. Grants are normally paid in two instalments.

Applications must be lodged online through the institute's KLWAVE portal, in English or Korean, after registering an account. Postal and in-person submissions are not accepted, and the system shuts at 11.59pm KST on the closing date.
