Creative Australia has chosen nine agents, publishers and rights sellers for its 2027 North America Publishers' Program, which will take them to Toronto and New York from 3 to 12 March 2027. The agency announced the group on 27 October.

The delegates are Sandra Buol (Allen & Unwin), Fiona Inglis (Curtis Brown), Airlie Lawson (HarperCollins Publishers), Sarah McDuling (Penguin Random House), Jordan Meek (Hachette), Jane Novak (Jane Novak Literary), Rebecca Slater (a4 Literary), Aviva Tuffield (University of Queensland Press) and Sophy Williams (Black Inc).

Run through Writing Australia, the program connects Australian rights professionals with the North American market, one of the largest in world publishing. This round focuses on people who represent Australian books for adult readers. Each delegate will follow a schedule built around their own list, with industry meetings, market briefings and networking events, and will pitch titles to North American editors.

This is the second year Toronto has been included, with Creative Australia working alongside the Canadian industry for that leg of the trip.

Writing Australia director Wenona Byrne said "Australian writing is more important than ever, and this opportunity will deepen international networks".
