Creative Australia is taking applications from international publishers, agents and scouts for its Visiting International Publishers program, which will bring a delegation to Sydney from 17 to 21 May 2027.

The week includes business meetings, industry forums, panels with local publishers and agents, and visits to bookshops and a writers' festival. Two days are set aside for book-fair-style meetings in which Australian publishers and agents pitch titles to the visitors.

Applicants must be actively acquiring fiction, narrative non-fiction, poetry or children's books. Educational, reference, self-help and cookbook publishers are not eligible. Those focused on First Nations writing or children's books are encouraged to apply. Participants receive six nights' accommodation, meals at official events and a travel contribution of $3,000 from Europe and North America or $2,000 from Asia-Pacific.

Applications opened on 30 September and close at 3pm AEDT on Tuesday 10 November 2026. Applicants will hear by mid-December, and the final line-up will be named in early 2027.
