Murdoch Books, part of Allen & Unwin, is recruiting a marketing and publicity coordinator to join its team in Sydney. The role is advertised on the Australian Publishers Association jobs board.

The coordinator will help deliver marketing and publicity campaigns across the Murdoch Books list. Day-to-day work includes organising mailings of review copies to media and influencers, running giveaways, handling media enquiries and helping to prepare press releases, publicity material and book extracts.

The job also involves supporting author events, bookshop signings and promotions, scheduling social media posts, updating the website and making marketing assets in Canva. The coordinator will keep campaign schedules, media lists and coverage reports up to date, deal with authors, booksellers, media, distributors and creative partners, and give general administrative support to the team.

Murdoch Books is looking for someone with strong writing and speaking skills, good organisation and attention to detail, confidence with Microsoft Office, Canva and social media, and the ability to juggle deadlines. A real interest in books is expected. Experience in publishing, marketing or publicity would help but is not required.

Applicants should email a CV and cover letter using the link on the listing. The advertisement does not give a closing date or say whether the role is full-time or part-time. General enquiries can be made on 02 9281 9788.
